    Gamo I/D

A friend of mine has a el-gamo date about 1960/70. It has what looks like a stags head engraved on it. Also has two piece stock. Any ideas of model.
    Many Thanks. Chris

I think it could be a Statical - a sporting style break-barrel with the air cylinder on top of a black crackle finish frame, to which a butt, and separate fore-end (both wooden) are attached. The novelty is that the air cylinder moves back in the frame on firing, to absorb some, at least, of the recoil.

This is the single shot version, dating from 1975, there is also a later magazine-fed version (the Stamic) with a tube magazine above the air cylinder, feeding pellets into a block which rises as the barrel is broken, and lowers again into line with the barrel as the guns is closed.
