Just had the Prosport open - A little problem.

Just had the Prosport open, removing a washer that was causing a little power issue.

Put it back together and give it a test fire - The safety isn't engaging.

Can anyone suggest what I've messed up and the correct way to sort it out?

This was my first time, so go easy please.

    Cheers,
    Mat

    Are you cocking it fully.

It's the last 1/2" that causes problems

If you do not pull the lever fully down the safety will not operate.

    Try cocking it harder.
You remove the whole block so you dont touch anything to do with the trigger safety.

    Hmmm

Admittedly I only tested with the action out of the stock so far.

I'll put that back on and see if that makes a difference to the cocking.

Edit: Yep - That sorted it.

    Cheers.

Remember to tighten the back trigger guard screw (the small one) fully first, then just nip the front (larger) screw.

I still haven't had my pro sport apart as I've had no need as yet I have noticed that the safety sometimes dose not engage if, as mentioned above, the lever is not fully extended. This also caused me a few sleepless nights until I figured it out.
