    Pellgun oil substitute?

A little while ago someone asked about the above and was given a substitute; can anyone remember what it was? I vaguely remember 30w non-detergent oil; can anyone confirm or deny this?
    Please don't say "do a search" - I have!

I don't think I want to know what he used it for....

    Thanks for the suggestion, though.

I have not looked to hard for this oil, just in local car spares places, seen classic car oils ND,but oil to thick.
two stroke oil, especially cheaper basic stuff, like the red coloured Texaco oil may be OK,next time I need some for my bike will get this brand & check the info on the bottle.

Let me know what you find out, Ray; I've always got 2T oil hanging around for strimmers etc., and it's usually fairly cheap - save the good stuff for the bikes!

Very old post, but I found because I was looking for pellgun oil substitute (original at lower cost) started off looking at Auto Transmittion oil but ended up with w30 non detergent.

I've found this on and a few other places, but question is....did you use, does it work

    Many thanks
