    "rim fir" ????

Unless this refers to mould growing at the top of a toilet bowl, are they saying .22 LR is okay?

Surely Brocock is/was cen fir. Wish I hadn't sold mine if they allow rim fir

Still waiting for a response for mine. Don't know what to expect. Completed all the paperwork/refs, ect. What happens next?

It's been about two weeks now. Do the police always carry out home visits for a single Brocock pistol (which is what I have). Seems a bot ott!

I'd be interested to hear what process others went through. Goo or bad.

First of all welcome to the BBS.

I had a visit a couple of weeks ago and my certificate arrived yesterday.

As mine was a variation (I already had a FAC) it went through without any trouble. Just a visit to check the security and whether I had enough space in my gun cabinets to store them.

If this is you're first application it may take a while for the police to make their enquiries.

Got mine back Mon 9/2/04. Pistol marked as .22 Pietta SCGC revolver.

Visit was from a very attractive young lady accompanied by a middle-aged bloke who I gather was in training. Both were very interested in the Brocock/Pietta, had never seen or heard of anything like it before and wanted to know how it worked etc.

I don't think either rimfire or centrefire is a correct description for this MO. 'Part from anything else, there ain't no fire.

Anybody know if the 6 fpe limit still applies to this new legal class of firearm they've created? I used to think I knew the law as far as it mattered for pretty much any type of gun, but it's now becoming quite labyrinthine. The legal review that's been talked about is needed now just to sort out what's what and what's not.

    Regards,

    Cheers Barry,

I didnt mention that the enclosed cheque for £50 was processed rather sharpish! Took this as a good sign but I'm probably being over optimistic. I'll be well miffed if I don't get it!!

You will get a visit to inspect the security (house door and window locks) and where you will lock the pistols away (security gun safe)

I was told after this inspection that it was OK ( security check on me was completed prior to visit) and the FAC would be with me within a few weeks.

Payments are always cleared before they process any licenses.

    First excuss not to accept.

Visits are down to staff availablity.
Always get a visit on any application for Gun license.
To check out you and gun/s
and that Required Security is carried out.

I am well aware of some awaiting Full Bore Licenses to take months from application.

There was expected a delay in people getting the New Tac Licenses.
As there main priority was to get them listed against owners.
