Question Help please regarding buddy btls

Hi Glad to see the site up and running, I ve asked this question before but made a mistake. I said that I could fill my bsa buddy btl up to 300 bar, what i meant to say was i could fill it up to 3000 psi the problem is that it will now only fill it up to 2300psi and then it levels out. I've 2 divers btls and they are both full and they both do the same thing. in my last post some said that it could be the gauge????? how do i test this theory
any help would be really appreciated
    Cheers Rudy
    P.s Thanks in Advance

    Rudy,

Easiest way is to test the gauge in comparison to another that is known to be accurate. I would have though most dive shops could do this for you.

    Rudy,

No problem. I also think it's true to say that when you fill the bottle from the tank...the air decompressing from the tank into the bottle warms up making the pressure deceptively high. Allow it to cool for a while and you should notice the pressure has dropped off...ready for a top up.

This is also true of the tanks. I've heard that some dive shops fill at a higher pressure to allow for the pressure drop, some fill to required pressure and then top up...and others just fill to the required pressure, take your money and tell you to p1ss off

Maybe you are getting lower pressure due to lower pressure in the tanks.

If I'm way off on this I am sure I will be informed of my numptiness

    Cheers

guns international at barnsley likes to let them stand overnight before top up.
the owner gunsmith carl will still fill them if you are prepared to stand and wait for 30mins after first fill.

I fill my Superten Buddy bottle up to 240bar with hand pump, leave it for a while and it drops to about 190bar then I fill it again.

You can only fill your buddy bottle to the same pressure as the divers bottle........does that answer the question?
