    Target shooting- South London

    Hi

I have a .22 HW45 which I would like to use responsibily in a club setting on either paper or turning/knockdown style targets indoor/outdoor. I could shoot evening after work or occasional weekends

Can any one suggest anywhere local to me where I would be welcolme? I am in Tooting.

    Many Thanks

Get on a train and head south to Caterham. Or drive of course.

The Caterham and District Rifle Club welcomes you!

We shoot rimfire during the week, but several of us shoot air rifles on Wednesday and Thursday. Saturday afternoon is Air only and we shoot a mixture of targets, tins, home made bits and knockdowns.

Very relaxed club and a good bunch of people.

    P.s. Fill in your profile.

Depending on how far you are from Banstead, you could try Gallyhill Shooting Club. Open most evenings and Saturday/Sunday mornings, visit the following for more info...

Ham and Petersham is between Richmond and Kingston www.hprpc.co.uk

And tomorrow (sunday 2nd) is a guest day - arrive at 10am be shown around and get to shoot anything from .177 match air weapons to .38 centrefire carbine rifles - £2 entry plus ammo /targets- finish is by 2pm - the idea is to let prospective new members have a looksee. You can use you .22 HW45 on any of the 8 ranges except the 10m air range (.177 only - but you can always fit a .177 barrel - I did and was using mine down there on paper targets last night.
    Cheers
    Stu
PS don't however come expecting to shoot tin cans - it is official targets only - which include field air knockdowns, chalk discs, paper and even falling plate (but you need to borrow a club semi auto air pistol for that :-) )

I also have been going to SEAC for the last few months. http://www.freewebs.com/stumpy1966/index.htm

Great club, everyone is really friendly... it's all their fault I'm addicted and all these new FT related toys are emptying my bank account

I am hoping to check Gally Hill out as well as it is very close to me (Croydon/Bromley area)

    Stock Exchange Rifle Club

There's a Stock Exchange Rifle Club in the City of London, they have air pistol, I believe.

But don't ask me for directions: I live in the U.S.!

While I sure don't envy the U.K.'s gun laws, I wish we in the U.S. had even half as much interest in airguns as you do in the U.K.

I reckon part of that IS attributable to your stricter gun laws: but I also suppose that the fact that we have more space, and cheaper real estate, is a big factor here: we can afford the greater space necessary to shoot more powerful guns.
