    FAC application - BP ammunition?

I'm just filling in my FAC application and I've decided to put in for a .44 BP revolver along with the "conventional" rifles (it seems rude not to, as my club also shoots BP!).

I was about to skip putting anything in the ammunition section for the revolver, as common sense says that it's just a handful of lead balls, but then I remembered that nothing to do with firearms law has much to do with common sense!

So, should I put anything down in the ammo section for the BP revolver?

No need for anything in the ammo section for your revolver.

Remember though that if you plan to use "real" black powder you'll need two licences, one to buy and one to transport, plus a special storage box.

The popular BP 'substitutes' - Pyrodex & Triple 7 - need no licence or special storage box.

You'll very likely be asked to show your FAC when buying Pyro or 777 or caps nowadays.

Great - that's as I thought - thanks for the peace of mind!
