I was watching mythbusters today and they was building a paper crossbow,to simulate what some prisoner done to another inmate with a crossbow made of paper.To cut a long story short they was talking about kinetic energy,he had a chart of different power levels for different quarry.And the chart says that you only need about 24ft1b to despatch a Bear,and 65ft1b for a Bison.Surely that must be wrong don't you think?

must also be wearing nike, puma or addidas running attire and bike clips because if the mythbuster was wrong or the sights on your .308 are out slightly - you'll need them sooner than you think

I think you'll find they were refering to actual energy needed to dispatch and not muzzle energy. HTH

I would want a sh.i.t load more than 24FPE if a bear was in front of me or disposable pants in case I missed.
