    Question Sand Bags!

Bit of a strange question but here goes. Could anyone please tell me where you can buy those mini sand bags which people use as a rifle rest when zeroing/target shooting??

    cheers.

    Arrow

Expect the most are stitched together by Shooters or their other halfs

But Donna , Baz's other Half used to do a mean Bean Bag

Sand Bags get damp and Heavy , Bean bags are lighter and do dry out.

you could use those cloth cash bags that you get from the bank, fill it with whatever you want and get a nice ladyfriend with a sewing machine to close the other end for you.

    Bean bags

I have found that uncooked rice makes about the best bean bag and is also cheap to make.

I(or mam) stitch round three side of fabric then fill with rice and sew the hole closed.

Hi Cooky, I have asked the question several times to people who have them and they have all made them themselves.

They can be found on some American sites, but the two sites I found them on would not ship across the pond

Just like this one from a certain lady. Circa 2000. And the rice is still fine.

Just got myself a very well made cammo bean bag from Uttings. £26.00.
They also do a black version, I think, made by logun, for the same price.
Most of the guys at my local gun club have them for shooting on the range and they are also very handy out hunting for keeping one's bum (Oooer matron) comfy and dry!

Oooops sorry! Am I allowed to say bum on here?

    Have a look at

    www.shootingbags.co.uk

Not the cheapest place in the world but may well have what you are looking for. Failing that buy a copy of GunMart and have a browse through the ads.

I've definitely seen them advertised in Gun Mart within the last couple of months - but can't remember which shop (I've just spent half an hour looking, but couldn't see them!). I DO remember they were quite expensive (about £20 I think)compared to buying them in the USA - I got a pair in Suede-type material ( shaped for fore-end and butt) for about $10 in Florida!

Be very selective when your lover throws you out. Grab the pillow you dribbled on. Stuff it with the things bought for you that you would never wear, use the office stapler that you stole to close the open end, and you have a perfect gun rest, and you are halfway to doing what YOU want to do.

i saw them at minsterley. not sure of the cost, as there where too many big numbers going through my head at the time anyway.

vipertek uses them and they are superb.

    Snipers use them....

British military snipers use a sock, with sand in it.

US military snipers probably use a Blackhawk Industries (TM ) " Righteous Vengeance " Tactical Butt Support System made from cordura with patented Ezee-Sqeeze Tac Grip panels.
OK I made that up, but take a look at the Blackhawk website and you'll see what I mean

I'd go with the sock myself
