Time for a new breech seal?
Just wondering if anyone has come across this problem before I strip the whole thing down.
When firing the gun there is a blast of air from around the magazine area,it doesn`t seem so apparent without the mag in but then the mag may be amplifying the noise?

Had this on mine, it's either the bolt that needs adjustment or the barrel wants moving back a smidge.

This is very common and is caused by the probe seal getting weaker over time. The barrel probably needs to move back a fraction in the block. Do the following:
1. Take off the scope and front scope mount.
2. Loosen the barrel locating bolt which is under the front scope mount.
3. Loosen the pinch bolt on the side of the action.
4. The barrel is now free to move so with the magazine in place and the bolt retracted, move the barrel back towards the shooter carefully until the magazine is just sticking in place.
Tighten the two bolts and try again.
Please note that all work on a Rapid should be done with the buddy bottle removed.
If you still have a problem then the probe assembly needs moving forward a fraction. On older Rapids this means shimming-inserting another washer behind the probe assembly. This isn't difficult but you do need a good pair of small circlip pliers. Later Rapids have an allen key 'hole' in the middle of the bolt accessed from behind the action. Turn this clockwise until the air escape stops.
Please note ALL the allen bolts that you need to turn are IMPERIAL NOT METRIC.
Good luck!

Are correct, I had this , just move the barrel a bit until a snug fit.

Just to add to my post above. I have suggested moving the barrel first rather than the probe assembly for no better reason than it is easier to do!! However if you have a late model Rapid with the adjuster in the bolt AND your magazine is already a snug fit then the probe adjustment is probably your first step.

For MK11 owners there is a small locking grub screw on the side of the bolt which is best loosened a tad before adjusting the probe from the rear. Locking screw is easily missed with a bit of moly smeared on top of it.

Also, IIRC the locking screw can only be seen with the bolt in the cocked position as it is quite far back on the bolt.
