Bunny Breeding info - to help get a shoot

My wife and I went for lunch at one of the top end hotels. Great lunch - corresponding bill, and we had a stroll in garden afterwards. We were nearly tripping over bunnies! No exaggeration in a 20 yard by 20 yard area there were about 15. One could even walk up to them 10 yards away and they still didn't move.
Anyway rang the Manager - he was off but Duty manager agreed he though they had a problem!

What I was interested was how many times do bunnies breed per year and how many little bunnies do they have.
Argument to be = I saw 50 bunnies in 10 mins you have 65 acres.
    50 x 65 x breed cycle x no in litter = x per annnum. etc.
    Any info most welcome.
Got to ring general manager tomorrow.

RM Lockely suggests a number of 10 to 50 rabbits per acre if left to themselves.
A few years ago I had a shoot at a residential school, which consisted of about 5 acres of ornamental gardens. The first time I was shown around I counted in excess of 40 customers out feeding during the daytime. It had not been shot for fifteen yrs.
