i'd get the A3000, tho if you want the best pistol, get a makarov

I've had two Anics. Didn't keep either long due to the awful trigger. The Cp99 is not the best co2 gun either. Get a S&W 6 incher. A far better gun than either of the above. It's the only modern co2 gun I've kept for any length of time which must say something. Also the practical pistol lads use the Smith extensively too which is a good endorsement.

i tend to fire single action most often, but even when its on double action, its not that bad, i guess i've got strong fingers!?

    Then again......

Nothing but nothing co2 powered beats a Crosman 600 with a slightly longer than std barrel. Best Co2 gun by a mile. You can have mine when you prise it out of my cold dead fingers.

    cp99

I was in the same dilemma when i was looking at these pistols but after visiting my local gunshop and looking and holding them there was only one winner.
Firstly tried the skif and even though it could hold more pellets than the cp99, it had a trigger like a cap gun.The way the gas cannister is loaded on the cp99 is also very easy to get to grips with.

In my view comparing a S&W with a Mak is no fair comparison. The S&W is very well made and oozes quality. I believe it to be very accurate too.
The Mak is all steel, a beautiful fun gun that can be stripped and has that 'basic' functional feel about it.
So: accuracy and sheer quality: S&W
Jolly good fun with great feel and function but really only for fun and plinking: the Mak

    Why not get both..

    Cheers, Phil

Phil - where did you get S&W and Mak from? I think settler7 wanted to know about the Skif and the CP99....Ford Prefect very rightly brought the Mak into the forum...cos it is the best Co2 pistol!! without a doubt.....SKIF although powerful looks and feels like a toy and has a 5000 round "service life" according to the manual ..CP99 is just under powered if you are going to fire pellets, one would think you need uummmpphhhh S&W I can fully understand for PP but it's a big 'ol clumsy thing...So although it was not the original question, the Makarov is the best pistol due to looks/realism and has been proven...can be made to be fairly powerful (considering that barel length) oh..and it will probably last forever

    Arrow

Had many a CP99 on the Ranges , look 007 and handle well but have got to be lowest powered CO2 Pistol.

It also looses power / Range very fast.

We did have a woman shooter on the circuit , who used to shoot one and used to carry spare CO2 holders and change them during the Competition to keep up power.

Skiff is Fun if you have the finger power , but Smith is my Favorite CO2 Pistol , especially on hot days.

Rest of the time I shoot my Tac Target Trophy in .22
