    Question self contained pcp?.

a number of years ago i was talking with michael tawn.
i needed a pump for my brocock cartrdges.
i happened to say, it`s a wonder we cant get a self contained pcp. he asked me what i meant.
what i meant was, a rifle like a crossman or similar where instead of getting one shot for umpteen pumps, you pumped the resevior.
watch this space he said, pointing to air gunner.
    i`m still watching.
do you think it`s possible to have a pump rifle with a resevoir like a pcp, all in the same block.
if it helps what i`m trying to think of is something like the sheridan pro hunter. but instead of pumping for ever for one shot, give it a seperate air tank and make it a self contained multi shot.
    hope this makes sense.

I remember an old article in one of the airgun mags (1993-4??) on a gun John Bowkett was developing. It looked like the early Titan single stroke pneumatics but took several pumps in return for several shots. Ive never seen a production rifle like it though.
Maybe someone else can remember more about it??

am going to be selling one shortly as it happens....
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

John Bowkett did build several one-off pump guns with more than one shot capability. He also modified a number of Mohawks, which he originally designed to give a single full-power (in practice 10-11 ft lb) shot from one stroke of the looooooong sidelever. I have one (unmodified). That one pump stroke is hard work but it is an incredibly quiet rifle.

Pictures of various Bowkett prototypes including IIRC something similar to what you describe were posted on here several years ago. The member who posted them is AFAIK long since gone and unless someone kept a copy of the pictures they are lost as the topic was also deleted long ago.

I added a 70cc reservoir to my 0.177 Setra. It took loads of pumps to fill it though.
