    has anyone else noticed....

that there seems to be a serious lack of rabbits around??? it may just be in my area(cheshire/staffordshire borders) but i heard from a friend down in essex area that he isnt seeing much lately also. i may just have to go a bit further and find some new permissions.

Anyone else having the same problems???

Saw lots this afternoon on my shoot and in nearby fields. Saw probably 30 from several different warren complexes in the space of four hours.
I didn't get many shots off because of the wind.

    It's either mixy or VHD.
There has been a plague of mosquitoes this autumn, so it's entirely possible that the bunnies have been affected by these.

99% of my shooting is lamping. We don't see any during the day, either.

In fact, the three I have seen were all beside the road.

Half way home, one rabbit actually ran across a major road just a few yards in front of our car.
However, his "flat mate" had obviously not been so successful trying to cross a little further down the road some time earlier in the day.
