    got an original 50 coming....

    hey up all

i've arranged a swap, my king ratcatcher for a lovely old original 50, i've had both mods in the past (typ 01 and the 'ordinary' one) and like a pillock, i swapped/sold them (can't remember which)

they're lovely old guns and i never rarely use the ratty, the current owner of the original is an 8 year old lad (bought for and supervised by his dad), he was struggling with the rifle, i'm sure that he'll cope with the crosman much better

just can't wait to get my grubby mits on it

Hi John, was given an Original 50 serial # 1121 last year.
Some pratt had put about 4 coats of thick varnish on it & the trigger guard & under lever catch was missing.
With a lot of sweat I have refinished the stock & made & blued guard & latch.
Looks a different rifle now. Can't make my mind up about re-bluing (which is very indifferent at the moment)
    Don't know anything about these rifles (it's a .22)
Out of interest anybody know what they're worth,(I wont be selling it)

I was given a very early Original mod 50 some years ago, it had no bluing and some klutz had tried to carve scope rails into it with a cold chisel.
The trigger mechanism was interesting to put together!
Despite looking terrible that rifle could really shoot, first time i took it out i bagged a bunny at thirty yards with the open sights.
I should have kept it and restored it properly but let it go for £25
I suppose i shall have to look for another one to go with the webley mk 3 and Bsa Airsporter, seems my collection theme is becoming classic underlevers!
