    been lookin for ages on differnt sites on how to sharpen my knife, and this is the most informative and easiest to follow thankyou.

    very good post, i like a sharp blade but like most i put very little effort and thought into it, im going to go and try it rite now (a&e here i come)

    KME KNife sharpener, everyone can have a razor sharp knife. I have one and it works perfectly for every knife.

    Thats a post for everyone.I used to sharpen my survival knife,not on its own mini stone.But on a large flat looking pebble from whatever Loch I was on.This worked ok (Though not perfect it kept us going).Jim.(Night Owl).

    thanks for that it has been really helpful i have always used an oil stone but never used a belt afterwards i will try that and hopefuly get a lot better finish than i have previously been getting.

    Hi i have heard through the grapevine that Denim ( jean material) is also good to use for the finish on a knive sharpen? Anyone used this method! And does it work effectively?Regards Andy

    knife sharpening

    All good advice here. I would add to always work the knife edge away fron you and reduce the sweeps of the stone until you are only doing one each way , then strop to a finish. If the blade will not slip over the surface of a fingernail but immediately 'grips' you have developed a pretty good edge.
