    New airgun or NV ?

WIth £300 approx. would it better to get a good 2nd hand air rifle or invest in a nv scope ?

I live on a dairy farm and the rats eat the feed. There are plenty rabbits, pigeon and crows for hunting but the rats are the biggest pests. I've tried lamping and used filters - they learn quick...

Will the NV novelty ware off or will the new air rifle gather dust?

Horrible with money burning a hole in your pocket.
If you can hit the rats with your presant rifle why buy another, if the rats are becomeing wary then NV will be an asset.
    BUT
Are you over shooting as in too often so they know what to expect as soon as they hear you walk up to your shoot ?

I'd say go for NV, depending on what gun you intend putting it on...
