Hi John, have copied a quote from your opener above so that those who's system cant show the actual photos (like mine) in the opener can see it on the link above and see what's what etc . HTH: Gareth.

    Swift training rifle

I have a Swift training rifle which was given to me a few years ago with a copy of the reply to a question about the rifles in Guns Review. The rifle was a copy of the P17 it didn't fire a round but a spike came out of the muzzle and pierced a card target attached to the front of the gun, at the same time a metal pad hit the firer in the shoulder to simulate the recoil. I have never found time to get it working although I think it is complete. If anyone would like to see copies of the reply letters I can post them on here.

    Hi,
I have seen several of these for sale over the years. They ranged from about £80.00 for a rough example to about £350 for a mint one with its original box, labels and kit. Don't know if they sold at these prices though.
I once saw a box for one of these for £10.00 in an antique shop, but I was strapped for cash at the time. This was about 15 years ago, but if I remember correctly the box was a pale RAF blue / grey, with instruction labels pasted inside and painted military markings stencilled on the outside.

Have you ever seen the WW1 training rifles, these have a retractable tube that comes out of the front for bayonet practice. Webley made these amongst others.

E**y would perhaps be a good bet to sell this, as there is huge interest in British military rifles in the Uk and abroad and it would find its own price there.

    Cheers Morgan

as stated on here they go from about £80.00 to £350.00 so if anyone interested i will let this go for £120.00,
if anyone interested it would be better if there was a colllector who could get better use out of it as its just sitting in my gun cabinet taking up room.
    cheers john
