    Here we go again.

The only advise that you are going to be given mate is to start knocking on some doors and start asking for permission. If you do a search on the subject you will bring up alsorts of info on the subject, from shooting permission letters to do's and dont's.

    Hope this helps.

To save everyone's fingers, the link I posted was to the thread about this from the other day, I felt that that thread covered pretty much all the angles!

I did Karl, I directed you to a thread where this issue was discussed in some depth the day before yesterday.

It might sound patronising mate, but thats the way we all had to go about it.

Try printing off a shooting permission letter and hand delivering them. Try and talk to the farmer, go dressed smartly, and dont take your gun as though you expect him to let you straight away! Alot of people try and befriend the farmer and help out around the farm, then ask. Ive had success from both approaches.

    Good luck.

Karl, I'm sorry if it came across as me having a dig at you, I wasn't. I was just trying to avoid you getting a flurry of "go and knock on doors" posts. Getting a shoot is one of the hardest things about this sport, it takes time and effort to get to know people. FWIW, I have not got a lot of faith in the letter route, I have sent and delivered plenty and only ever got one reply (it was negative). Far better is taking the time to get involved in the countryside by beating, following the hunt, going to the farmers market and chatting to the farmers etc. If you are genuine and people can see that you care about the countryside and fit in, everything will just fall into place.

Think about it, would you let someone shoot in your garden unless you knew a bit about them first?
