    Airmasters FWB photos

All-round good chap Garvin asked to see a photo or two of my Airmasters FWB 124, so here they are, taken in a hurry a few minutes ago. It is said to have won the UK Open FT Championships in about 1986. It fires beautifully, and is one of my favourite airguns!

Wow Paddy, that's fantastic. It looks to be the one in the John Walter book 4th ed, which I'm reliably informed is the one and only thumbhole FWB Mastersport made by Messrs Welham. Thanks for posting these pics.

Thanks chaps I was told that in the 1980s, it cost over £800!

Amazing, It was probably considered a radical looking stock in 1986, and yes I would love one for my 124 , but 30 years later it would pale in comparison to some of the stocks being used , even in HFT competition. I can only imagine how well it must shoot.

Richard Welham was kind enough to contact me with some background info about this beautiful gun. He said it was the last custom FWB they built, and although the build-price was substantial, it was not quite as much as the £800 I'd been told.

It also didn't win the 1986 UK Open, but did take the win at a lesser event.

All that matters to me is how it looks and shoots. Wonderful on both counts!

Hi Paddy, what a wonderful looking piece ... Imho far more aesthetically pleasing on the eye than any a Henry Moore, as again imho anything with such superb function and form as above, makes all else seem a load of Jackson Pollocks ...

Yes, it's certainly one of my favourites! The problem is, how do you rate it against the beauty of something like a Webley MkII Service Rifle? The answer, of course, is that you don't - you simply love them all as though they're your own personal harem!
