Maccari does a GOOD square spring made from quality steel, OX springs tend to wreck the gun or fracture on the last three coils.
    Stuff on the box.

ox is not the best spring in the world straight from the box.
cant show graphics on how to prep one.
basicaly, stand it verticaly on a flat surface and use a plumb line to check it is straight.
if not as unvariably it wont be.
being square coil it is only the finish.
fitted an ox in one of my target pistols.
might ramble on a bit, but i did it.
take said ox spring, cut orft about a quarter inch. best done with an angle grinder. mind your eyes.
ping it, i.e bead blast it. thats all that paint off.
now stand it on a straight surface again. grind again untill it stands straight. and round off the ends.
    then mollycoat.
the only thing i can find wrong is the nut on the steering wheel.

Why not simply buy a decent spring in the first place?

Put a piston weight in it, along with the washer, chrono'd it at 10Ft lbs.
might just leave it at that..and give the OX back.

    Cheers Guys
