webley mk3 pricing

what is the webley mk3 worth as my brother in law is thinking of sell his, its in .177 flavour and i would say immaculate conditon.

Hard to say for sure without seeing pictures but because it's .177 and if it really is immaculate then you are probably looking towards the top end of the scale for a Webley MKIII. What exactly that scale is is entirely open to debate and will depend to some extent on the serial number/age of the rifle. Personally, I already have one in .177 so I wouldn't go too mad but if there is a collector out there that is desperate for one in .177 you might do well.

i love reading about this old rifle (thanks Sam) which is one of my favourites

With regard to values for a .177: A few weeks ago I called in my local gunsmiths and asked if he had any old rifles for sale. He initially said no, but then remembered that he had a Webley Mk3.

He showed me the gun that was close to mint condition(and I am fussy), so I asked - How much?
He replied £125.

I immediately thought that the gun must be a .22 but it was still a real bargain because of its superb condition

When I checked it, I noted that it was a .177, so this was really worth every penny. Without hesitation I said YES PLEASE! and produced my debit card.

As the owner of the gunshop was about to process the deal, out popped his assistant from the workshop who asked the question of his boss - what are you doing with that Mk3, I sold it this morning and took a deposit - put it back!!

I tried to hide my disappointment (uttered flipping heck or something similar under my breath)and said cheerio.

Condition is very important to many collectors and the earlier Mk3's had some nice touches that disappeared in the later models (better design of loading tap/trigger/trigger guard/trigger pins/stock badge).

A nice, early, .177 Mk3 is certainly worth £200+. IMO. and the very first models with the slimmer stocks and more complex triggers are probably worth much more.
Mint examples of Mk111's probably change hands at well above £200 and Supertargets seem to go for a small fortune
