    Thanks to I.J. for the info on my mates cadet major, one last question, its a .177 what sort of power should I expect when its running ok, (he only wants to tin can bash at 10-12 yds ish) but at least he wants to use it

    Cadet major

    Between 5 and 7.5 ft lbs
    These rifles generally shoot pellets out at between 550 and 680 ft/sec depending on weight of pellet and the condition of piston washer and spring
