    Airgun World 1978

If anyone has all the editions of AGW from 1978 I'd like to ask a favour of them

There was an article entitled 'Hawk Eyed' by some bloke called Jim Tyler published on the same pages as one of Les Herridge's articles, and I'd be eternally grateful if anyone could tell me which month that magazine was published.

I have all of 1978 except September and October and can't see it. So it's either in one of them or I got distracted and missed it in one of the copies I do have. I enjoyed looking for it. Forgot how much excellent stuff there was in those old AGWs. Was your nom de plume "Susan" Beety?

Thanks for looking and certainly not.

I know who 'Susan' was, but I can't tell you without breaching the AGW Official Secrets Act.

I have checked all 1978 and can't find find it either. If you think it might be 1979 or 1980 I could check those later this weekend.....Costalot.

Perhaps you should be looking in the 1879 editions.

Thanks for looking, Costalot. It would be easy to miss the article - it's on the right hand page and is tacked on to an article by Les Herridge. Perhaps it was 1979 - either way, it was close on thirty years ago so perhaps it's understandable if I've got the year wrong.

    And as for...

Thanks very much for that, Tezz. I knew there was an '8' in the year.

Only too willing to oblige. Sorry but I couldn't find any embarrassing photos of Beety.

I hope you got S C Rothwell's permission to reproduce that article Ian. (Not to mention JT's ). Beety will be down on you like a ton of bricks if you didn't.

Nice seeing an article about what is now considered to be a vintage gun.

Mind you, fair play to 'em, it was all done with quills on velum in those days you know. None of this modern word processor malarkey.

I seem to remember reading about this in the AGW. I'm sure someone wrote in stating that the scope was fitted to the barrel because of the barrel droop.
