    I enquired about the possibility of getting a semi-auto air rifle at my last renewal visit, and was told 'no'.

    There are semi auto CO2 guns too, they are not illegal but I believe the gun trade agreed not to sell the FX semis

    I would second that. Just sorted out my Excalibre (thanks Ian Johnstone for advice). Backed the hammer up 3 turns and now got a nice nearly flat curve over 30 shots from 180 bar. Will try 200 bar this weekend.
