    Which 0.177 pcp

    Which one to buy,

In my local club shop is an HW100 in a Ginb stock (looks very nice) , with an FX cylinder (why?), for sale that i've had my eye on for a while.

Now there is also a BSA S10 BBK , for very similar money.
Cash is now burning a hole, but which one to go for and why?

The FX cylinder is fitted to reduce overall weight as the HW100 is normally fitted with a heavy black finished stainless steel cylinder.

You say at your local club shop - is there a facility for you to try both before you buy?

If there is try both and then make your decision - each gun has its enthusiastic followers - but you really need to try them and see which one you prefer.

    Which One

Wayne, the GINB HW100 is my old one affectionately known as Hilda. I swapped her for my Dommie with Andy Moore. I'd part stripped the stock of varnish. Andy did a bit and got really busy and thats how the stock remained, Andy sent the action off to HC for a service and it's not really been used since. He chopped it in a few weeks ago.

I bought her second hand last may from a bloke who'd owned her from new 7 months beforehand. The FX cylinder makes a massive difference on the handling as does the stock, which used to belong to Dave from Wendover.

If I didn't have 2 Dommies I'd have her back as she's a great gun, although I would be very inclined to haggle with Roger or Mick as the stock needs a fair few hours work to put it back to normal. Very very accurate. I don't think you could get much more of the history of a gun if you tried!

If you want to know anymore, I'll be at the club all tomorrow setting the course and all day saturday for the open.

    hw100 or s10 ?

ive owned both mate and i have to say the hw would get my vote every time! the beesa was very accurate but no more than the hw is but the hw is far easier to get on with, easier to load and far more reliable. the beesa had the reg done 3 times in 6 months and the mags have to go back to bsa for service every so often, i was constantly getting missfeeds with it and also they are easy to double load if you havnt got your mind on things. but its a personel choice at the end of the day
gunless but gordon brown can still eat my s--t

    Thanks Ryan

I knew it was an Andy's at one point, but did n't know it was yours before.

I v'e had my eye on it for a while , but having just bought a new TXHC, couldnt justify the expense, now i can.......nearly.

Useful info anyway, but i cant get to Kibworth this weekend as my Pie Key weekend lifestyle re-starts tomorrow.

By the way, does the cylinder have a guage?, does it have the charging/connecting gear?

    Cheers

It's an FX probe to fill it, when I had it I'd take it to 180bar. Andy definitely had my old filler but if not I may have a spare somewhere I think. It's something else you could use to haggle with!

The cylinder has no guage but 5 mags and I'd top it up, as you know what I'm like about poi changing even slightly!

I'd much rather have a HW100 than anything BSA.
