    beeman 2004

    just bought one of these hw45 lookalikes . at the end of the piston there is a an allen type grub screw , whats it for anyone know

    If it's the one I think it is (as on my HW40) it keeps the pivot pin linking the piston rod to the overlever in place. At the other end of the air cylinder, next to the valve housing, there's a similar arrangement to keep the air cylinder/frame pivot in place.

    Your spot on Iain, it's the first screw you loosen if you are taking it apart. have a look at this link, it's for the HW40/Beeman P3 which yours is a copy of.

    Yes, I'd second that recommendation. I've seen Todd's reviews before and they really are very thorough.
