Question Gamo Compact v. Daisy Avanti 717 or 747

If anyone on the list has any experience with this Gamo, and with either or both of these Daisy models: I'd be interested in knowing which you prefer, and why.

i`ve owned both the gamo and the 747. the 747 is far better. it is easier to cock, an all metal action great balance and has a longer sight picture. the trigger is a lot lighter on the avanti as well.
the gamo is a good first timer 10m pistol. it is acurate enough but the trigger is a little on the heavy side.

I had a Daisy 717. Superbly accurate and easy to cock as previously mentioned. I modified the trigger with 747 parts, cheaply available from Daisy USA.

The problem for me was the weight, around 3 lb if I remember and again for me it was rather front heavy. If you have a pretty strong wrist it is an excellent gun. If I was going down the same road again, I would choose the Gamo though, but only because of the weight. The trigger is not perfect, but it is not rocket science to mod. it. See Nige from Spain's website.
