I am unable to make this either which doesn't make a great deal of difference as I can't do anything anyway

Not sure what the plan is, I hope we're fininshing the bits that didn't get finished off on theprevious visits etc.

Taking my general gear with me, and seeing what's to do when I get there.

One half of the front elevation is cladded. The remaining centre section and left-hand section are studded but needs cladding.

I think there's enough cladding left. Neil Brooks kindly supplied it.

Cheers Spork. How many are we this time? There's me and my mate, Richard and Steve (I think) - any one else?

/edit - I'll fetch my basic tools again then

I'm sorry folks, but due to a flare up of my arthritis I'll be unable to attend, I can hardly walk let alone be up and down ladders all day

Crap crap crap. We now have a bit of a problem. My buddy has just been rushed into hospital with suspected appendicitis , so he will obviously not be able to attend, which leaves us down to just me and Richard. I haven't done plastic cladding before, and also I have no way of transporting ladders down there (I don't know if there are ladders there?).

Can two guys do the cladding in a couple of days? With no (in my case) experience?

What to do guys - I know this is really short notice, but

I'll pm my contact numbers to people involved, if it helps. I've lost your number Steve

    FWIW, I am still available

The timber frame still needs fixing to the building as well, Nick has built the frame and put only a limited amount of fixings in so as to get all the timber work done.

The cladding is easy Tim, fix one piece, making sure it's level and then they just sit on, nailing as you go, make sure you don't bank the nails in too far as it leaves dimples in the cladding.

ok - doesn't sound too bad, and looking at the earlier pics, there's no openings to piss about with. Doable over the weekend with just me and Richard?

We also will have height issues, as on Nick's earlier post, he's said that there are not long enough ladders on site.

Any ideas on that one anyone?

How were you fixing to the building Steve?

    Ta

There are ladders on site but it's a stretch.

Fixing to the building = it's a bit of a pain, you need to drill half way through the timber with a 25mm flat bit, then use 4" screws with washers and fix to the timber frame of the building, it can be a bit of a faff finding something solid to fix to though, I think the frame also needs noggins.

I reckon you'll struggle to get it done with just two men, but you should get a fair chunk of it done.

Spoke to Rosie this morning and I believe there are others coming, so I'm going to go and see what can be done safely.

It really needs to be water tight before winter or the battens risk damage?
