Been a while since I have posted but would like a steer in the right general direction.

I know every barrel is different but I am on the brink of ordering a .20 HW 97k and would like to know if anyone would recommend a suitable pellet shortlist (prefer lighter pellets). I am thinking of trying H&N FTT and also Bisley Superfield but any other recommendations for HW .20 barrels?

As an aside I am also looking for recommendations for hollow point style pellets for a .22 HW95 (using AA Field 5.52's at the moment) and .177 BSA Lightning (older style - using AA 4.52 Field at the moment) for close range pest control.

.20 sample pack £6.99? Seems to stock the most popular brands:

Thanks for that - didn't realise they did .20 mind you 10 pellets of ech doesn't seem like very many to test out a rifle, but it's a start!

If any one has had a .20 Weihrauch any pointers would be appreciated!

I noticed today that people sell larger samples of individual brands on flea bay, so if you think the rifle likes one in particular you can try those instead of forking out for a full tin

    Thunderbolt - .22 Springer

Have just purchased a pack of Thunderbolt, .22 Springer pellets.
Wanted something lighter with flatter trajectory compared to the heavier AA Diablo Field.. has anyone tried them?
I use x1 pellet for both HFT & Hunting and found the AA DF's to be a good all round pellet but felt losing out to some extent on the weight.
Have I made a good choice (gunsmith's recommendation)?

only if your barrel likes them will you know the answer to that one.
You must clean your barrel thoroughly before trying them mind.
I found that my HW97 liked them very much but some of my other guns did not, with a Hatsan even refusing to take them down the breech at all.The HW95 is not keen but one of they guys at the range had good results with his in Karbine form.So who knows

Just been thinking or rather been pondering your post.
I am not convinced that the very light pellets are the way to go for hunting in the field. They may not retain the energy sufficiently for downrange one shot killing. They are deadly accurate indoors but I find they carry the wind very badly are affected more than is deemed acceptable.
On that bombshell!!Have you tried the Falcon accuracy plus pellets yet???? They are a JSB made pellet but are less than 14 grains in weight. 13.44 or something like that.
I found these to work well for magpie shooting, but not yet put the bunnies to the testbut I would say they are probably better for your purpose.
and Defiants are worth a try as well at only 14 grains they are light enough to make a difference in trajectory without sacrificing the knock down power of the longer range shots.
