    Adive on where to start

I am looking to buy a PCP air rifle for some fun FT shooting. Probably going to be either an Air Arms 510 or BSA R10. I note from reading various posts pellet choice can be key to small groups. So, where do you start? There are so many choices, cant try them all, so is there a way of shortlisting pellet to try?

    RWS Superfield .177

I have a collection of various rifles and pistols and each and everyone uses RWS Superfield .177 pellets.

A majority of the members of our local shooting club all use RWS Superfield .177 pellets and we have seen some incredible high scoring competition results.

    I have…… Weihrauch HW100, HW97K, HW90, HW80, HW75, Air Arms S510, Alfa Project, Beeman P17, Feinwerkbau Model 80

    Pellet testing

As I’m new to the forum I thought it would be appropriate to post a pellet test I did around 12 months ago.

I bought a Webley nemesis in .177 calibre and was using H&N pellets but got a sample pack of various other makes of pellets to try in it.

I posted the results on YT and so here’s the link for anyone who might be interested.

My .177" Mk3 TX200 HC has no problems with Crosman Premiers.

I know I'm far from the world's greatest shot (barely had the rifle 5 weeks), but I still pulled off a group that was 1/2" (by a hair) at 20 yards (outdoors) using them from prone - took me a while though, there must have been whole minutes between some shots.

    Wow now that's some figures.

Seems like your T10 doesn't like Air Arms Field 4.51s

That's very interesting though Al. Good stuff.
