This is one of the funny things about collecting; rifles you once dismissed as ugly become must-have desirables almost overnight.

That depends if your buying or selling.

My list of top ten includes:

    Airsporter (Mk1, 2 or 'S')
    Mercury 'S'
    BSF 55/55Dl or 60.
    335
    Original 50 (early)
    Original 45
    HW35 (Vixen )
    HW55
    Webley Omega
    FWB Sport.

My not including the Webley Mk3 was not an oversight.

Youve got to have the BSA Cadet Major in the list. Its the one of the most elegant air rifles ever made.

    List is getting longer.

The FWB 127 I just purchased should arrive tomorrow. From what I have read so far I havve started off well .

The Omega is next in my sights , I prefer .22 but I think .177 is gaining ground.

Very true, I thought the Webley & Scott Service Rifle was pig ugly, but having just seen pics of a well preserved one I really want one. Having just sold the wife the marvels of modern PCP and all the innovations I am now having to tell how how good an "investment" these older rifles are for her and the kids as she will get more for them than my modern guns if I die.

    Anschutz 335

    Weihrauch HW35 Export

    BSA Mercury 'S'

BSF B55 Bavaria Deluxe (or the BSF S70)

    Original 50

    Feinwerkbau 300

    Weihrauch HW55

    Webley Mk 3 underlever

    Original 45

    Park HR91 (or 93)

    That should keep you going!
    I think this is a good list. I'd just replace the Original 45 with a recoilless Original double-piston rifle - Mod. 60, 65, 66 or 75.

Being 10 metre match guns they're relatively low-power, but extremely accurate and very pleasant to shoot.

..Which might be sooner than you think if she ever finds out exactly how much you've bought and what they've cost...

I would really love to get hold of a Webley service, but considering what a good example fetches, it's going to have to wait until I get my christmas savings out. It can be my christmas present to myself.

Well the FWB 127 SPORT arrived today. Must say I took to it instantley. Very nice rifle to handle with lovely balance.

Wife was sat in room when it arrived so passed it to her to see what she thought, she likes guns and has a pistol and shotgun back in S.A. so knows what she is doing.

Amazingly though she said she liked it the best out of all the rifles I have.

This devilish womanly tactic is usually followed by me having to give the thing in question to her as a "gift"

Original sights came with it, just need 2 screws for the rear sight piece.

A very big thanks to alarabia for sending me the gun BEFORE the cheque cleared and sorting out a hard case and next day courier delivery. Great bloke to deal with.

Well and truely sold on the older guns if they all handle like this.
