    rimmie versus FAC-

so ive been toying around this for a while and had some time at hand to check my things. By how much is the rimmie more efficient than FAC air? well im shooting a .25 31grain pellet at 924ft/s while the other is
.22 at 40grain 1050ft/s. this is at 20deg Celcius. in summer some numbers here skyrocket because of the heat, imagine the 17hmr clocks 2757ft/s here!
here are 2 drop charts, one for the 0.25 fac and for the rimmie both with 35yard zero for a fair comparison.
(D-Mts) Mils Mils Value for drift(Mils) 5mph full value wind
    35 - 0.0 0.0
    50 - 1.0 0.5 0.7 0.4
    60 - 1.3 0.9 1.0 0.4
    70- 2.0 1.4 1.1 0.5
    80- 2.7 1.9 1.3 0.6
    90- 3.0 2.4 1.4 0.6
    100- 4.5 3.0 1.6 0.7
    110- 5.5 3.6 1.8 0.8
    120- 6.0 4.2 2.0 4.2
    130- 7.5 4.8 2.2 0.9
    140- 8.4 5.5 2.5 1.0
    150 9.7 6.1 2.6 1.0

in one turn on my turret(6mils) i can go to 120meters whereas the rimmie can take me out to 150meters. i dont mind the drop much since it just means another half spin on the turret but look at the wind figures in Mils. thats for a 5mph wind full value. till 80meters, the pellet drifts 50%more. above that to 150meters for the same wind the pellet drifts 1.5x more than the 22lr does.

in simpler terms this means that your wind reading skills become sharper shooting long distances with air rifles however the rimmie makes your shot easier. both will make you a better shot if you can correct for wind and practice that way. an added advantage is that your pellets will still flatten out on metal plates wheras the 22lr tends to ricochet sometimes wildly.

The real advantage is that a decent rimfire can be bought here for hundred pounds or less, and you just pick up a box of bullets and go

No air cylinder or pumping needed, and decent ammo for around £30 per 500 no contest if land is suitable, and its quieter than a FAC air rifle
