    Webley Mk1 pistol

I have recently acquired a Webley "Mark1" air pistol .22.

The serial number is 1038. It is in reasonable condition, slight rusting etc. Has black plastic? handles with Webley emblazoned on.

Appears to have been introduced in 1924? What can you tell me about it? When was it made? Does it have a value?

    Regards, Squint.

If your Webley Mk.I has black Bakelite grips and the name 'Webley' on the top of each grip, it is more likely to be a post 1946 model, and the number is a batch number rather than a serial number.
The first models from the 1924 era had wood grips, with a gold coloured flying pellet medallion on the left grip.
