So long as it is a ferrous metal (ie. steel) and not alloy its perfectly ok.
...on a Air Arms s200 silencer???
It's worked a treat on a small scratch on the barrel, but can I use it on the silencer, is this also blued?

Is the finish on it blueing or another?
If its the same material as the one for the AA400's its alloy and won't blue with G96,
With the silencer being alloy it will be adonised(sp) there is a bit on the airgunforum about how to do this at home but it is quite involved and not worth the hassle to repair a scratch on you silencer if its bad just get a tin of matt black paint and touch it up with that or get the aerosol an spray the whole thing

they are alloy & are black anodised or powder coated so cold blueing cream will not work on this type of silencer' as it is for steel only.
Dave.
Thanks for the help, I suspected the silencer was alloy
The scratch is only small, I'll touch it up instead
Cheers

Try 'Birchwood Casey Aluminium Black'. That should do the job.
