    Which S&W Barrel??

Hi all....thinking of getting a longer barrel for my 4" 686...do I go for the 6" or 8"???....8" is a tenner more than the 6".
    All opinions gratefully received....

Hi Eric, 6" everytime mate, the 8" is slightly more accurate but the extra 2" makes it too front heavy.

But the 8" does look good and instantly turn you into Dirty Harry, try it, put the barrel on and even in your head you will say those famous words.

Where is the cheapest place to get 8 inches?

I mean the barrel, of course

6 inches is enough, if you know how to use it!

But seriously: mine has a 6 inch barrel. I'm not the strongest guy in the crowd but I'm not the 98 pound weakling either, and the 6 inch is plenty for me to hold two-handed, and really too much for one hand. (I can't seem to stop this, can I? ).

8 inches would be so muzzle heavy, my only chance of hitting the target would be from a richochet to the ground in front of me!
