    Conquest and a Muppet

Just sold a Zeiss conquest to fund a new Swaro 6-24.
Looked through the Swaro and a Zeiss Victory and ........bought...a Zeiss Conquest.
Don't get me wrong, the Victory was better in build and optically, but only just. The Swaro was again better and contrast definitely so.
The Victory was, I would say the most impressive, but it weighs too much(for my application) and I am not a fan of 56mm scopes. £1100 is a fair wad.
The Swaro is 50mm but front focus, although unless on an over long scope it is not too much of an issue. £1200 for the model I was after.
Picked up the Zeiss Conquest that the chap owned himself and with the #4 Reticle it was all there.
Side focus, light, 1" tube and not far off the bigger scopes.
If the Zeiss Conquest was only £200 different, then maybe, but at over £500 difference..not a chance.
I really don't feel like I have compromised; just saved half a grand.

    Talking great stuff

lol yeah and that change will buy another very fine scope for another rifle.....it's the way i feel when i use my 6-20x40 Weaver Grand Slam....and very pleasing it is too - you feel like you've arrived finally where you want to be having been disappointed by a million scopes along the way

Although i may be tempted by the new 6500 elites

I have a Swarovski on one rifle, and to be honest I cant see what people rave about, its very well made but other cheaper scopes can match the optics, at least to my eyes they can
