    HW97 V-Glide help

Hi all want to fit a V-Glide kit to my HW97 .177 as I fitted a v-mac spring kit and it didn't seem to make much difference does anyone have one?
And will it lesson the kick and make it smoother to shoot, as the kit know is £160 any advise will be greatly recieved.Or is there any other choices
like Sandwell Field Sport or John Bowkett?

Fitting a V-glide kit is more involved than a V-Mach kit and if you are going to pay £160 for a kit, you would be better paying the extra for Steve Pope to factory fit it. Also you have already fitted part of the V-Glide kit
An alternative is SFS (Sandwell Field Sports) who have a good reputation for tuning and I believe are cheaper.

I can't speak from personal experience but i've also heard a few people say SFS are good, and cheaper too.

I also have a 97k and i'm thinking of having mine done so, let us all know how you get on if SFS do it for you.

I don't have the v-glide but i do have a tuned 97. Tuned = delrin buttoned piston with a maccari spring and new guides, which is very similiar to the v-glide kit (v-glides use a ringed bushing rather than buttons, i believe)

The gun shoots considerably different than a stock 97. Gone is the raspy spring noise and gone is the excessive vibration. I went from fac to 12fpe
so the recoil should be much smaller. So i cant really comment to much on the kick other than it still kicks albeit a much smoother kick.

I have liked v-machs kits and have actually bought a few and paid the premium to import them, For 12fpe i think its well worth the money. If it were me i'd fit a kit and then send the trigger off to be worked on.

Out of interest, what new rifles can you buy from V-Mach or do they just do tuning and custom parts?

    Do they have a website?
If you choke a smurf, what colour does it turn?

If you're going to go for the V-Glide i would get Steve to do it,he will make the parts work in harmony with each other.Or just go for the SFS tune, which for the money i think is hard to beat.Keep it quiet but i actually prefer the SFS tune to the V-Mach tune, but each to there own. What you've got to ask yourself is,is it worth spending nearly as much as the gun again on a tune up,you decide.
