Hi all, im new on here but been collecting for a while now, still learning.
Ive just recieved a mk2, lovely condition, wanted one for ages. could one of you splendid chaps tell me the date of it, the serial number is S7197. Also what would be the chance of finding a spare 25 cal barrel.Many thanks

Great choice to add to your collection but as for a .25 barrel hens teeth spring to mind. Mr Knibbs does a new/replacement job for around £130 I think

I'me no expert on these rifles, but have one with SN S9829. I was advised that this was from about 1938, so yours is probably from 1936. Wonderful engineering and an absolute classic.

According to Hiller, the Third Series began with S2001 in September 1938.

S/N S7197 would therefore date from around 1942 and S/N S9829 from about 1944...
