first question; can anyone please mail me instructions how to adjust the power on this rifle (its in .177 and needs to go from around 10.5 ft lb to around 11.5 ft lb)
second question; has anyone any idea what pressure the regulator is set to. In other words what pressure does it start to come off the reg? I could do this myself over the chrono I know - but someone may be able to save me the effort..

unfortunatley you might not get any replies to this thread as it is a touchy subject.
giving information over the net for all to see how to uprated the power of an airrifle is not good publicity for the sport as i am sure you can appreciate.
my advice is to take it back to the shop where you bought it and complain about the power and get them to sort it out for you.

Gordon,
You do not mention what pellet , you used to get that reading ? or how warm it was as reading will be higer on warmer days
Yes 10.5 might be low with certian pellets in certian tempratures.
but on a warm day it could end up over the limit.
Also some BSA Gun/s, shoot sweeter on a lower FP level than they do on a bit higher
Re off reg , I have had people shoot them down to less than 10FP
before noticing the pellet drop.
As there is several @ Lea Valley Air Gun Club
I have got to the stage in weighing out pellets in film cases around 70 Rounds , betwen fills, to keep it at it's optium peek.
Yes mine is also .177 and runs off my Exterminator 9.50's
was reading around 11.4 the other week.
On a none sunny day.
I have not needed to touch my gun out of the box , adjustments.

thanks for the replies :-)
maybe I wasn't clear in my post - what I meant when I said "mail me" was actualy to email me so that such sensitive information would not be broadcast on here. The level of adjustment I am talking about is to keep my gun within the legal limit - which is my responsibility. Its the adjustment all pcps have in one form or another to allow this to be done. I don't want to convert to a full power FAC - just adjust to below 12 ft lb - which is my responsibility.
Would someone mind emailing me this?
The second question kind of relates to what pressure is the reg set to. I underststand what you are saying Bob - relating to the changes in temperature etc. But what I was asking was what pressure is the regulator set to?

Take it from someone that know's!
I was told b the guy who designed the rifle John Bowkett that is should be run on 232bar, you don't fill to 200 bar for it to run at it's sweet spot as it's regged.
I use to run it on 200bar & had inconistanty but on 232bar fill it purrsmy advice would be try other pellets to see if you can get up aft lb that would make it easier, or as said take it back to the shop where you got it from & ask them to address the problem.
Hope it helps?
Darren
Sorted! One happy Hornet ticking along nicely at 11.5 ft lb.![]()
