I've made up my mind to purchase a Remington 1858 BP pistol, by Uberti, but am still debating between blued or stainless, new or used.
Any thoughts?

I understand Jim. Blued for that genuine look or stainless because it's sooo much easier to look after.
What to do shiny or easy... shiny or easy

Go for the original (blued) look if you're a traditionalist!
The shiny guys tend to be called "pimpgunners" (in my circle anyway)!!
Seriously though, if you have the choice, stainless every time (despite the "label") - so much easier to keep looking good.
My pistol, Pietta .44 'Texas' looks really tatty after lots of hard use - blueing well worn and the brass frame is a real pain to keep clean. Still shoots well though.
