I know what you mean, but to be honest, I don’t have a problem with BP Revolvers being licensed with some of the idiots around who would ‘experiment’ with them. All it takes is for one person to misuse one and BP Revolvers will get banned and spoil it for the rest of us.
What I do have a problem with however, is the fact that I have to get each BP Revolver authorised before I buy one (and pay the Police for the privilege of asking!). Obtaining more than one in the same calibre can also be an issue with some Police Forces.
If the Government believes, through the licensing process, that I am responsible enough to own and shoot a BP Revolver then I can’t understand why I can’t own more on the same license without having to ask. You can own as many shotguns as you like without asking if you have a Shotgun Licence and, in any of the many calibres, shapes, sizes and actions they come in - so why not the same with BP revolvers?
