    I used Royal London oil with Alkanet on my Teak Ginb #1 for HW100. IME Sono goes very dark when oiled and the grain doesn't show as well as Teak.

    The sono is quite a bit heavier.

    Personally I would never stain either, just enjoy them for the natural woods they are.

    Both of mine were hand oiled rather than lacquered.
