Sounds like it could be good for a laugh, though i think most will have trouble finding an area to shoot 50 yards.
Fancy shooting your air pistols & rifles a bit more, then guy's & gal's come visit us at the
UBC for loads of fun competitions for all types of air pistols and rifles.

I like the story on the " things not to do with airguns " blog .

Shooting at " super balls " - we call them power balls

Its scary when rounds come back at you , and reminds us about the importance of eye protection !

I remember shooting at tyres when I was a kid and a rd coming back and hitting my mate on the forehead - knocked him straight off his feet ...

I read a post on the Yellow Forum about the importance of eye protection, where some guys set up a piece of wood that had holes drilled in it and stuck firearm blanks into the holes and shot at the with air rifles to fire them.

Apparently some of the brass casings launched back at them!!!

I read a similar thread on here about using blank rounds as targets ...

I would have thought a straight through hole would be ok as the charge has somewhere to vent when struck ?

Otherwise it is going to launch straight back at you ....

Unless they are held in place then Newtons Law applies "to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction"
They would fly back as the blast goes in all directions.

I remember as a kid popping 6mm blanks with a hammer get a couple or three together and the hammer allways came back up and seemed very light
Aahhhhh the many hours I had pulling little pieces of Fioachie (sp?) brass out of my legs and guts

hehehe what a silly git i was then huh?

When I was a kid, I used to break the heads off matchsticks, shove them in the open end of a .22 pellet and load them in backwards. Made a nice bang when they hit the target.
