    Gun clubs in Lancashire

I don't know if its still there, but years ago I used to go to a range at the back of Birchwood Green, that old wild west place near Warton. Thats not too far from Blackpool. Might be worth checking out mate.

The one where the noisy compressor chugged away all the time?
    Think that folded years ago.
B.A.R. will be able to give any details of clubs in their area.

There is some sort of gun club near Kirham - on the other side of the 'main' Blackpool to Preston road.
I suspect that it's mainly shotgun stuff though, has anyone ever visited it??

Very strange that abbo. I live about 5mins away from Kirkham, and I've never heard of any gun club round there. I will try and locate it over the weekend. It would be excellent for me if they shoot air rifles there

Yeah I.J. I remember that old compressor chugging away lol. I wasn't sure if the club was still around or not. Last time I was there, which was years ago, there was only me and one other bloke turned up. It kinda took the fun out of it. The numbers had been dwindling for a while.

I nipped into Kirkham cop shop today and asked about a gun club/rifle range in the area. The guy had never heard of one

Very politely, he pulls out the phone book, looks up BAR's phone number, dials it, then passes me the phone so I can ask the guys there That was a bit shocking. I was half expecting to be interregated

Spoke to Roger on the blower, he says the nearest club to me is in Chorley. The Rivington Rifle Men. Your clubs not taking any new members is it I.J?

    Cheers.

    Very odd.
The one that I 'found' was from a club directory web site, the link to which was posted on this board some time ago.

I somehow never got round to phoning the place to see what they did there.

Anyone know what that website was which gives details of local clubs? I've tried searching for it, both on this site and generally, but not found anything.

I've discovered a gun club in Blackpool, but strangely they do not allow the use of telescopic sights!

Thats not too good when your wanting to zero your scope before a hunting session

Sorry I.J, I aint made it to your club yet. I will get there oneday lol
