    Beeman P2, single-stroke-pneumatic - mini-review

I recently bought a Beeman P2, single-stroke-pneumatic, in excellent condition. Thought I would provide a mini-review of the pistol. Basically it's the Beeman version of the HW75 SSP pistol with some differences. I do have some pictures as well to share.

Wood: My P-2 came with the standard grips that look like the P-1's, (HW45) but they look like a better grade of wood. Aftermarket Colt 1911 style grips will fit the pistol. Thinking of getting some pachmayer grips with finger grooves for it. In the interim, I added a beeman shoulder stock to it. I really like this setup. Accurate and fun to shoot.

Metal and Sights: I own a P1 and the P2's metal and sights appear the same as the P1. There are two differences you will notice. The P2 has a small metal button located at the rear of the frame, to the left of the hammer. Also the hammer is larger on the P2, than on the P1.

Weight: The P2 definitely weighs less than the P1. I don't know by how much. But you can feel the difference.

Trigger: The trigger is really sweet. Very similar to the P1, but a little lighter. I estimate 1.5lbs to 2lbs. There are adjustment screws to adjust the trigger to your liking, but I liked mine the way it came.

How to fire the pistol: First, you press the button located next to the hammer, This releases the upper frame and you cock it like the P1, except that closing the frame completes the air compression, just like the P3 or Hw40. Then you pull back on the hammer. The hammer is actually functional. When you pull the trigger, the hammer slams forward and trips a valve release pin. There is a safety like the P1, but it does not engage automatically.

Accuracy: Being a SSP, it's recoilless. That coupled with the excellent trigger, as long as you do your part, it's very accurate. More accurate than I am capable of shooting.

Chronograph: I fired 10 shots over the chrony after a 10 shot warm-up. It shot all 10 between 373-378 with the 8.2 Meisterklugen. I think that's some great consistency.

Summary: This pistol is the shiznit. Accurate, well built, decent velocity and handsome to boot. I really enjoying it!
