Tasco Custom Shop 10-50x56 and TX 200 SR

    Hello,

I have recently bought s/h Tasco Custom Shop 10-50x56 made in Japan (fine mil dot reticle). I am considering mounting the scope on TX 200 SR (recoiless) 12 ftlbs rifle, but I have certain reservations regarding mounting big scopes on recoiless springers. Shall I afraid that the scope will broke down on the TX SR or is the CS "recoiless" springers proof? I just don't want to ruin this fine scope. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Przemek.

I have heard the SRs refered to as "Scope Killers" mate. I wouldn't risk a 400 quid scope after reading some of the posts on here about them.

The CS 10-50 is a fine scope. However you will find it difficult to get it repaired these days if it does get damaged.

The Nikko Stirling 10-50 that is now on sale at around £380 to £400 is very popular and relatively inexpensive. Here in the UK it has made the prices of second hand scopes like the CS drop.

Hello, I have owned a few SRs over the years and have mounted all sorts of scopes on them, I have NEVER had any scope suffer on an SR not even some quite "cheap and nasty" optics.

That's what I thought untill I read on here that they are known in some circles as Scope Killers. Although their is little recoil felt through the stock when firing, the action slamming back on the sledge transfers the recoil to the scope.

That was the reasoning here anyway. Since reading it my mucker has had two scopes fail on his SR, so there might be something in it.

Ive had two SRs both .22 and .177 for a few years and never had any problems with damaged scopes.
