A well known gun smith showed me a barrel that had been shortened, which had very bad accuracy problems, if you looked really hard about 30mm in side the barrel you could see where some twonk had caught the rifling with a reamer, just be very careful with shortened barrels, personally if it was me i would of left well alone, sorry

If you take the barrel out, try pushing a pellet through it from the breech to muzzle and check to see if the pellet is slack at the muzzle. If so, the choke has been chopped off. For best accuracy the muzzle should be the tightest point in the barrel.
