    s400 trigger chassis

I noticed yesterday that the first pressure on my s400 trigger had become very creepy. When I had a look I discovered that the front screw holding the trigger chassis onto the action was loose - but the screw head is in the hammer assembly ie you have to get underneath the hammer - is this correct? If so how do I get to the screw head - how much disassembly is involved?

    Any help much appreciated.

    Regards

rich you have to take the block of the top to get to a bolt that is in the bottom of the hammer unit acsess is through the slot in the top of the unit !!

Thanks, I got that far but how do you get to the bolt as the hammer is in the way? if you cock the action does it give you access(I had the trigger sears out by the time I got this far so couldn't cock it). It looked to me as though the hammer guide would still be in the way???

Normally you will have to remove the entire hammer housing, (5mm bolt in the rear) safe enough with air in the reservoir as you are not cocking the hammer or undoing the reservoir tube.

Of course, safety first, it is always best to empty the cylinder first anyway.

Many thanks, I did see the 5mm bolt and wondered whether that was what I needed to do, but as you say I was concerned about the cylinder so left it until I had spoken to someone who knew what they were talking about!
