Question What is classed as excessive bumping in the sales section

What is classed as excessive bumping in the sales section?

'Bumps': Every time an advertisement is 'bumped' to the top of the list by the advertiser, everyone else's advertisement scrolls down the page. Anyone who bumps an advertisement excessively will find that it disappears and they may lose access to the sales sections.

As I have seen bumps running into 3 pages. So I was just wondering what is acceptable please.

There's no hard and fast limit, becase members who abuse the system will simply get their mates to bump threads for them.

We don't have time to go through all the long sales threads counting the number of bumps so, if you see what you believe is excessive bumping, report the first post and we'll take a look.

I've never sold anything on the sales page but I've bought a few things and have to say I tend not to look at those adds with lots of posts as it usually means I've missed it.

If I see something I like but either don't have the money or I have one, on say page 5 and the person selling is polite and non pushy (bumps once a day type of thing) I give them a bump to the front. Did it today for a guy selling a pro elite.

To bump twice every day is fine in my book, every half hour (as some seem to do), is excessive IMO.

i try not to bump excessively, but when i do bump i try to tidy the thread by deleting the previous bumps thus saving people trawling through pages of bumps and hopefully helping the forum

I'm going with one maybe two a day, there's so much traffic on the sales section if you don't bump then your thread is on page three in no time lol

Heavy traffic is a great thing i'm not complaining!!

Does it really matter how many times you bump?

If a seller needs to bump so many times, then it's either overpriced (which nobody can comment on as per the sales rules ) or a rare / unusual item that nobody is interested yet.
